Chat with your bots and teams.

Ask a bot or a whole team to do something, follow along as it works, and pick up the results.

You give your bots work by chatting with them, the same way you'd message a colleague.

Start a chat

  1. Choose a bot or a team room in the sidebar. A team room sends your message to the team lead, who hands parts of it to the right bots.
  2. Type what you want done, in plain words. Or pick a starter, such as Brief me on today or Research a website.
  3. Press Return. You'll see the bot working: what it's reading, what it's writing, and any questions it has.

When a bot asks first

Anything that matters, such as sending, posting, deleting or paying, waits for you. A card appears in the chat and in your Inbox:

  • Allow once: let it do this one thing. It will ask again next time.
  • Deny: don't let it. It carries on without it.

Stop a bot

If a bot is going the wrong way, stop it from the chat or from Running now on Home or in Activity. It's asked to stop first, then stopped if it keeps going.

Lessons

Bots write down short lessons as they work, such as "Gavin prefers dates as 1 Nov". Lessons apply to that bot, in that space only. You can see and remove them, with Undo, when you edit the bot.
