Troubleshooting.
Fixes for the most common problems, and how to get help.
My laptop or phone says it can't reach my Mac
- Check the Mac that runs your team is switched on, awake and logged in.
- If you're away from the office, check Tailscale is switched on on your laptop or phone.
- On a laptop, Control-click the Mac in the rail and choose Reconnect.
- Still stuck? Check the Mac mini's Tailscale is signed in, and that its key expiry is turned off. See Reach your Mac mini from anywhere.
My laptop says the Mac removed it
Someone removed the laptop in Settings › Devices on the Mac mini. Pair it again with a new code: Pair a laptop with your Mac mini.
It says to update the app on my Mac
The Mac mini and your laptop are on different versions. Update the app on the Mac it names, then reconnect.
Nothing ran overnight
- Check the Mac mini didn't restart. With FileVault on, it waits at the login screen after a restart until someone logs in. See Keep your Mac mini running.
- Check the automation is switched on, and look at the automation health card on Home.
- Check the Inbox: an automation may be waiting for your OK.
Telegram says another app or space is already using this bot
The same Telegram bot is connected on two Macs, or in two spaces. Only one can use it. Disconnect it in Settings › Messaging on the one that shouldn't run the team, and make sure only one Mac is set to This Mac runs my team.
Telegram ignores my messages
Only people set as Owner or Team member in Settings › Messaging › Telegram › Who's who are heard. Send a message in the group so you appear there, then set your role.
A bot keeps asking for the same permission
Allow once only covers one time. For an automation, choose Always allow for this automation instead. Sending, posting, deleting and paying always ask; that's on purpose.
